Presented at Madeira Tecnopolo

First Master in Technology of Entertainment

 

The first professional master in Technology of Entertainment in Portugal, created in the scope of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program, was presented las July at Madeira Tecnopolo.

 

The session has as speaker, Don Marinelli, Executive Director of the Entertainment Technology Centre, also had the  presence of the State Secretary for Science Technology and Education, Manuel Heitor, of the Vice-President of the Regional Government of Madeira, João Cunha e Silva, of the Madeira University Rector, José Manuel Castanheira da Costa, of the Chairman of the Administration Board, Raul Caires and of the National Director of CMU Portugal, João Barros. 

 

The MET aims to stimulate the leadership in education and research combining technology and arts in the creation of new processes, tools for the creation of new stories in entertainment.

 

In the basis of the concept is the interaction between people with different profiles and trainings from arts to technologies that through a combined work will be able to produce new ways of entertainment and information to communicate with an audience.

MaReS  Project is presented in Funchal

Session takes place in Madeira Tecnopolo

 

MaReS project aims the establishment of a common strategy and synergies promotion between the areas with most potential and complementarities of Macaronesia R&D systems. It aims the definition of an analysis tool common to , and Canaries in what concerns Research, Development and Innovation (RD-I). It also intents to coordinate the identification of opportunities that allow these regions to assume the challenges of sustainability through a common strategy of research and development.

The main goal of this public session is to allow each one of the three regions to present and promote its excellence areas in a way that makes possible the cooperation between the researchers of each region and the establishment of common RD-I strategies. This event will also constitute an opportunity to collect suggestions that will lead to a beter cooperation between all partners.

As for the strategic complementary RD-I areas, between the regions, there are three clearly identified:

i) Marine Sciences and Technologies in Canaries;

ii) Information and Comunication Technologies in Madeira;

iii) Biology and Geology of Deep Sea in Azores.

The public Session takes place in Madeira Tecnopolo, Sala Cassiopeia, -2, on July 6th at 14:30.
